A bit of history…
2000
The RAINFOR network is launched, initially with funding from the EU.
2004
With the further development of RAINFOR it becomes necessary to develop a database to integrate the plot data of the network members. Tim Baker and Julie Peacock developed early versions of the database.
2006
Data from AFRITRON and TROBIT networks are incorporated into the database
2008
Re-design and development of a secure database that could be accessed with a web interface
2009
The database goes live! Plot data from 20 countries are included.
