How to Acknowledge and Cite

The plot data housed in the database come from the collective effort of people who wrote research proposals, organised expeditions, measured and collected trees in the field, typed field data into electronic format, identified collections, uploaded the data … in sum the Forest Plots Database reflects the work of hundreds of people who are passionate about forests. To reflect fairly the work of those involved we ask you to:

1. Involve all contributors in your work, including giving them the opportunity to co-author with you.

2. In your published and oral outputs, plot PIs and database team people who are not already co-authors should be clearly acknowledged.

3. Cite the database in your bibliography using the following format:

"Lopez-Gonzalez, G., Lewis, S.L., Phillips, O.L., Burkitt, M. Forest Plots Database. www.forestplots.net. Date of extraction [dd,mm,yy] "
